NY’s Famed NoMad Hotel, NoMad Restaurant and Eataly Headed to Vegas
MGM Resorts International and New York-based Sydell Group have announced a partnership to reimagine and rebrand Monte Carlo Resort and Casino. The approximately $450 million transformation, which will touch every element of the property, will include two distinct hotel experiences: A Las Vegas version of Sydell’s widely acclaimed NoMad Hotel, and the launch of a new luxury hotel named Park MGM. In addition to fully redesigned and renovated hotel guest rooms, each hotel will feature innovative and exciting food & beverage experiences unique to the Las Vegas market, including the award-winning NoMad restaurant by Chef Daniel Humm and restaurateur Will Guidara; and Eataly’s vibrant Italian marketplace with cafes, to-go counters and full-service restaurants interspersed with high-quality products from sustainable Italian and local producers. Park MGM and The NoMad Las Vegas become the final pieces of MGM Resorts’ complete neighborhood redesign of the central Las Vegas Strip neighborhood, which began in 2009 with the introduction of CityCenter and saw the recent unveiling of The Park, a spectacular outdoor dining and entertainment district, and the stunning new T-Mobile Arena.

The Las Vegas opening comes shortly after Marvel’s movie smash “Captain America: Civil War” took the world by storm, debuting in the United States on May 6 and grossing more than $1 billion worldwide to date. The Las Vegas attraction includes an interactive journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe, allowing guests to engage with the Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and additional Avengers icons throughout. The World’s First Magic Supergroup Band of Magicians Announces Residency at Tropicana Las Vegas
The world’s first magic supergroup, “Band of Magicians” has announced a Las Vegas residency at Tropicana Las Vegas, beginning October 26, 2016. The celebrated production brings together four of the brightest young magicians from across the globe to create a revolutionary experience unlike anything the world has seen before. Coming from its recent tour across Australia and New Zealand, “Band of Magicians” has been described as “truly baffling, hilarious and even strangely moving marvel of a show.” The international consort of magicians includes James Galea of Australia, Stuart MacLeod from the UK, and Brett Loudermilk and Joel Ward of the United States. All four performers are well on their way to international stardom and yet, in the constantly competitive and secretive world of magic, took the unorthodox path and joined forces to create an ensemble show far greater than the sum of its parts.
Wynn Resorts Announces Plans for Resort Expansion
Steve Wynn and Wynn Resorts discussed plans at an investor conference recently for a new entertainment destination built around a first-ever recreational lake concept. The development is subject to approval by the company’s Board of Directors and will include a 38-acre lagoon, surrounded by premium meetings and convention space, a 1,000 room hotel tower, a small casino and extensive dining and nightlife. The elaborate water attraction will include both daytime and nighttime entertainment elements. Tentatively called Wynn Paradise Park, the expansion will be constructed on approximately 130 acres of real estate that currently houses the Wynn Golf Club. The proposed lagoon will be lined by a pristine white sand beach and boardwalk and feature an array of daytime activities including water skiing, paddle boarding and parasailing. At night, the space will transform with an elaborate fireworks display that is launched from the 120 ft. center island and surrounding areas. Wynn Paradise Park will add 260,000 square feet of premium meetings space with unobstructed views of the waterfront, spacious guest rooms with a separate bedroom, living room and balcony, and a variety of restaurants, including an expansion of the current Country Club restaurant.
Libertine Social at Mandalay Bay to Open
James Beard Award-winning chef Shawn McClain will introduce the world to his latest concept, Libertine Social at Mandalay Bay, this August. The restaurant’s convivial New American bar fare will be matched by a duel-faceted cocktail program from one of the great innovators in Las Vegas’ cocktail culture, Modern Mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim. Two distinct spaces, the energetic Main Bar and more intimate Arcade Bar, will capture contrasting vibes, defining the eclectic and energetic spirit of the restaurant.
