Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire Opens at the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas
The VOID, the global leader of a new category of immersive location based experiences, has teamed up with ILMxLAB to create Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire. Using state-of-the-art VR technology, The VOID will transport guests deep into the Star Wars universe where they can walk freely untethered, see, touch and interact with the environment that blends the physical with the virtual world. Under the orders of the rebellion, teams of four guests must work together to infiltrate an Imperial base disguised as stormtroopers where they’ll navigate through to steal critical intelligence with help from familiar Star Wars characters along the way. Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire opened to fans, travelers and locals alike in April and is located at St. Mark’s Square at the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas.
Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Announces Gwen Stefani Las Vegas Residency
Multi-platinum recording artist and global icon Gwen Stefani is heading to the Las Vegas Strip with her exclusive headlining residency show, “Gwen Stefani – Just a Girl,” inside Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino beginning Wednesday, June 27, 2018. Gwen Stefani, Live Nation Las Vegas and Caesars Entertainment have also announced their partnership with Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, where $1 of every ticket purchased to “Gwen Stefani – Just A Girl” at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will be donated to the non-profit organization.
OPIUM Premieres at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
During the galactic premiere of OPIUM on April 8, the crew of the Orbital People Mover 4.2 (OPM 4.2) blasted off on their inaugural interplanetary flight from the planet Uranus, successfully landing at the OPIUM Theatre at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Las Vegas, Earth. On its maiden voyage, the starship’s passengers were treated to a stellar performance by an irreverent ensemble crew of fools, many showcasing their peculiar talents – from sword swallowing and singing, to feats of danger, wonder, extreme athleticism, and more. The thrilling, at-capacity premiere flight was met with wild applause and a standing ovation by the ship’s passengers upon touchdown. OPIUM performs Monday and Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. with no performances on Tuesday.

REAL RESULTS Gym Opens at the Plaza Hotel & Casino
A one-of-its-kind hotel performance gym opened May 1 at the Plaza Hotel & Casino.
The new 5,000-square-foot fitness center by the popular downtown Las Vegas gym, REAL RESULTS will offer athletic sports style training, including group classes and personal training, as well as traditional workout equipment, dynamic group classes led by experienced certified trainers, and private one-on-one training. REAL RESULTS’ signature group cross-training and yoga sessions will be offered both in the new fitness center and on the recreation deck of the Pool at the Plaza, weather permitting. Conventions and special events at the Plaza can take advantage of customized activities, like “Detox to Retox,” private group and team building classes, and pre/post conference classes.
MGM Resorts International Releases “UNIVERSAL LOVE”
MGM Resorts International announced the release of “UNIVERSAL LOVE,” a collection of reimagined wedding songs for the LGBTQ community, celebrating the enduring and overwhelming power of love and music to unite. “UNIVERSAL LOVE” offers six newly recorded versions of iconic love songs that give same-sex couples a soundtrack for their own love stories and feature pronouns changed to reflect the world of LGBTQ relationships. The album includes boundary-changing songs from some of today’s most-beloved artists. The album features stellar artists from Bob Dylan, Kesha, St. Vincent, Benjamin Gibbard of Death Cab, Kele Okereke of Bloc Party, and Valerie June.
Caesars Palace Launches Dynamic Brand Campaign, ‘Like a Caesar’
The iconic Caesars Palace Las Vegas has launched a dynamic new brand campaign with a fully integrated, sharable narrative video, sweepstakes and room package, showcasing how every guest who visits the reimagined resort is treated ‘Like a Caesar.’ The centerpiece of the campaign, the video showcases a character known as Caesar indulging in the resort’s world-class amenities, including the pool, nightlife, spa, dining, shopping and more. Building off the resort’s rich legacy of trailblazing innovation and opulent offerings in the center of the Las Vegas Strip, the film pays homage to the resort’s rich history while showcasing its distinctive experiences in an approachable and humorous way. The ‘Like a Caesar’ campaign follows exciting developments at Caesars Palace. The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas Displays One of the World’s Oldest Gondolas
The Venetian and The Palazzo Las Vegas are celebrating the spirit of Venice with a new seasonal display that features one of the world’s oldest Venetian gondolas. The historic gondola, thought to be constructed around 1850, is considered by experts to be one of the best surviving examples of Venetian gondolas from that time period. The impressive specimen spans 36 feet and is nearly 5 feet wide. The original 1800s furniture is still featured on the gondola, as well as the etched glass windows and hardware. To commemorate the artifact’s arrival to the resort, the gondola is displayed among a collection of hundreds of flowers in the atrium gardens, affording great “Instagrammable moments” around the gondola.
Plaza Hotel & Casino Announces Debut of “A Mob Story”
Opening in July at the Plaza Hotel & Casino in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, “A Mob Story” will entertain audiences with an original production that tells the “tale of how the Mob made Las Vegas, and how Vegas took down the Mob.” Created and directed by legendary producer, Emmy and Golden Globe award winner, Jeff Kutash, “A Mob Story” is the most realistic portrayal of the mob ever presented on stage, as told by the last Godfather, former Colombo family capo, Michael Franzese. A true “made man,” Franzese will provide an unprecedented authentic journey into the secret world of the mafia as the show’s host. “Marilyn! The New Musical” to Open at Paris Las Vegas
One of Hollywood’s most iconic stars is coming to the Las Vegas Strip in “Marilyn! The New Musical,” an original musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. The show will open at Paris Las Vegas with preview performances beginning May 23 and a grand opening June 1, just in time for Marilyn’s birthday. Written, directed and produced by Tegan Summer, CEO of Prospect House Entertainment, in partnership with Authentic Brands Group, owner of the Estate of Marilyn Monroe, the new musical will feature acclaimed Broadway actress Ruby Lewis as the resident Marilyn Monroe. “Marilyn! The New Musical” features 20 original musical numbers as well as classics like “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” and “My Heart Belongs to Daddy.”
World Market Center Las Vegas Announces Expansion
International Market Centers (IMC), owners and operators of World Market Center Las Vegas, announced a partnership with the City of Las Vegas to construct a new 350,000-square-foot Expo Center on the World Market Center Las Vegas campus. The new Expo Center will provide state-of-the-art exhibition and meeting space in the downtown area for corporate and private events, meetings and tradeshows, as well as service the Las Vegas Market furniture, gift and home décor trade events that attract roughly 100,000 attendees annually.

Madison Meeting Center to Debut at Park MGM
As part of Monte Carlo Resort and Casino’s transformation into Park MGM this spring, an innovative venue within the new meetings and conference space is now booking groups for this May and beyond. The Madison Meeting Center, the first of its kind in Las Vegas, will cater to customized meetings for groups from 10 to 50 people. Zappos and Caesars Entertainment Announce Partnership recently announced that it is teaming up with Caesars Entertainment, beginning with the renaming of The AXIS, Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino’s world-class 7,000-seat state-of-the-art live entertainment venue. As part of the multi-year partnership, officials from both Zappos and Caesars revealed the theater will now be known as Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
MGM Resorts and Sydell Group Reveal Pool Oasis at Park MGM in Las Vegas
MGM Resorts International and New York-based Sydell Group have debuted the new pool oasis at the much-anticipated Park MGM. Channeling the sundrenched South of France, the vibrant outdoor escape features three pools, an oversized heated spa, 12 cabanas, lounge areas and multiple bars serving up delicious bites and beverages. Guests can mingle among friends at one of three pools – the South Pool, the East Pool or the North Pool – while lively music evokes a cool, laid-back vibe. Martin Brudnizki Design Studio drew inspiration from the natural surroundings of a country estate, incorporating layered horticulture to shape each pool space.
In addition to chaises throughout the deck area, each pool boasts Baja shelf seating and submerged wet decks, allowing guests to sunbathe while staying cool. Those seeking an elevated experience can upgrade to the VIP area by the East Pool, where they’ll find deluxe cushioned chaises.
Palms Casino Resort and Live Nation Present blink-182 Residency
Palms Casino Resort and Live Nation present GRAMMY-nominated trio blink-182’s first-ever Las Vegas rock residency “Kings of the Weekend” at the newly renovated Pearl Concert Theater. The 16-show run, which begins May 26 with dates through November, is one of the resort’s first major entertainment collaborations as part of the recently announced $620 million property-wide overhaul. In anticipation of announcing this milestone, blink-182 took a hand at making their unique mark on the property during its recent renovations.
Las Vegas Monorail Unveils Mobile Ticketing with Google Pay
The Las Vegas Monorail Company announced the launch of virtual transit ticketing with the new Google Pay app for Android phones. The Monorail now offers riders the ability to quickly and easily purchase fares online and use their phone at the fare gates for immediate transit access to everything along the Las Vegas Strip. It is the first transit system in the world to fully integrate their ticketing system with Google Pay using MIFARE contactless technology. With just a few clicks, Monorail customers can now purchase and save tickets using their credit and debit cards or PayPal account linked to Google Pay with the security of Google encryption. Once customers arrive at the Monorail station, they simply tap their phone on the fare gate and ride.
The Comedy Lineup debuts at Harrah’s Las Vegas
Tom Green and John Caparulo will take the stage when The Comedy Lineup debuts in the Harrah’s Showroom at Harrah’s Las Vegas in May. Incorporating videos and music into his set, Tom Green engages the audience the minute he hits the stage, delivering laughs with every poignant observation. Known as the “under-dressed everyman,” John “Cap” Caparulo is known for his impeccable comedic timing. Cap presents a sarcastic and often self-deprecating view on such topics as fatherhood and marriage, and a quick-witted approach to reflections on daily life. Las Vegas 51s Slide into Home for New Season
The Las Vegas 51s, professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, will swing into the regular season this month with a five-game homestand against the El Paso Chihuahuas starting Thursday, April 5 at Cashman Field. In its 36th season in Southern Nevada, the 70-game home season will feature various promotional nights, including the traditional firework shows presented at every Friday “home” game (and a Fireworks Extravaganza on Tuesday, July 3), Dollar Beer Nights, Jersey giveaway nights and more. Additionally, eight times this season the team will take the field as the Las Vegas Reyes de Plata (“Silver Kings”), as part of a new multi-cultural fan engagement platform. Reyes de Plata celebrates the city and state’s pioneering history at the forefront of the precious metal mining business that continues to define the Silver State today.

Las Vegas Lights FC Make Regular Season Debut This Month
Las Vegas’ newest professional sports team, the United Soccer League (USL)’s Las Vegas Lights FC, will kick off its first regular season match on Saturday, March 17 on the road against Fresno FC. On Saturday, March 24, at 8 p.m. the Lights’ first regular season home match will double as the birth of an in-state rivalry as the team hosts Reno 1868 FC at Cashman Field. The Lights will finish the month with another home match on Saturday, March 31, against the Swope Park Rangers.
Marriott International and Witkoff to Open The Drew Las Vegas
Marriott International, Inc. and global development firm Witkoff recently announced a plan to open a new resort at 2755 Las Vegas Boulevard South, formerly known as the Fontainebleau. Ushering in a new era of world-class hospitality, the integrated resort and casino to be named The Drew Las Vegas will debut the EDITION brand in Las Vegas and mark The Strip’s first JW Marriott. Anticipated to open in late 2020, the resort will feature nearly 4,000 rooms and suites as well as over 500,000 square feet of convention and meeting space. Once open, the hotels will be managed by Marriott International. Two Blackbirds Hospitality, led by renowned hotelier and former Cosmopolitan CEO John Unwin, will oversee the launch and operations of The Drew Las Vegas. As an integrated resort, The Drew Las Vegas will be home to a broad offering including a casino, luxury hotels, together with convention facilities, entertainment, nightlife, retail and dining curated into one cohesive guest experience.
Las Vegas 51s Break Ground on New Stadium
The Las Vegas 51s recently broke ground on a new facility, Las Vegas Ballpark, in Downtown Summerlin. The team will play its final season at Cashman Field this year, and is expected to move to the new facility in time for the 2019 season.
Harrah’s Las Vegas Completes $140 Million Renovation, Celebrates 80th Anniversary of Brand
Harrah’s Las Vegas has completed a $140 million transformation, which includes 1,622 modern new guest rooms and suites in its Valley Tower. Pairing seven-day-a-week free, live entertainment with a new lobby bar and casino floor, Harrah’s Las Vegas offers the best value at the center of the Strip. The new look comes as Harrah’s celebrates 80 years as a premier gaming brand. This latest redesign follows the renovation of 672 guest rooms and suites on the south side of the tower in 2016, resulting in a completely refreshed Valley Tower at the beloved Caesars Entertainment resort. The easily accessible Harrah’s Las Vegas is steps away from various Las Vegas landmarks and attractions and is a stop on the Las Vegas Monorail line.
Neon Museum Debuts “Brilliant!”
The Neon Museum recently debuted “Brilliant!”—an audiovisual immersion experience that uses technology advances to reanimate 40 monumental examples of the museum’s iconic vintage signs. Presented after dark in the Neon Museum’s North Gallery, “Brilliant!” was created by digital artist and designer Craig Winslow using projection mapping to arrive at a shared augmented reality experience. Earth Water Sky served as the system designer and integrator. To guests immersed in the 30-minute experience, the unrestored, non-working and in some cases broken signs will appear to be suddenly re-electrified, as though by magic, before their eyes. Up to 50 guests at a time will be transported directly into Las Vegas’ history, where the static signs come to life while accompanied by music from some of the entertainment industry’s most storied performers.
Pronto by Giada Now Open at Caesars Palace
Celebrated chef, author and television personality, Giada De Laurentiis, has officially opened her second restaurant, Pronto by Giada, at Caesars Palace. Guests can now take a quick bite of the good life with De Laurentiis’ signature California-Italian fare but in a fast, casual format. All Pronto dishes are made in an abbreviated time, perfect for guests on the go or those looking for a leisurely bite. Once guests receive their dishes, a variety of seating is available from counter and bar seating to casual lounging.
The Mob Museum Debuts Major Renovation
The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, debuted its major first-floor renovation, which includes a brand-new exhibition space called Organized Crime Today, focusing on the modernization and evolution of organized crime in the present day. Two new experiential spaces include the Use of Force Training Experience and Crime Lab, which join the Museum’s already robust experiential platform, focusing on methods employed by law enforcement to apprehend and prosecute criminals and their organizations. These new exhibits and experiences represent the first phase of the Museum’s largest capital improvement project since opening on February 14, 2012. The final phase of the Museum’s renovation and expansion will be completed this April with the opening of the enhanced Prohibition history exhibition, The Underground, which will include a working speakeasy and distillery.
South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa Unveils $40 Million Renovation of Guest Rooms
South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa unveiled a $40 million remodel plan to its guest rooms throughout the property’s three towers, which includes 2,049 rooms and 84 suites featuring new furniture, luxury flooring, crown molding, mini refrigerator and bathroom upgrades. The first phase of the redesign, which will begin in April of 2018, will be completed by September 2018, with 100 rooms currently on sale for reservations beginning in May 2018 at the South Point Hotel website. The three-year project will refurbish one hotel tower each year and is scheduled to be completed by September 2020. By the end of 2018, more than 630 newly designed rooms will be available for guests for a $10 upgraded room fee. The guest rooms offer a refreshed look with new Bernhardt furniture, such as beds, dressers, night stands, chairs, sitting tables, and lounge chairs with an ottoman. In addition, the guest rooms offer lamps with power and USB ports, functional desks for business executives and a new color palette.
Tape Face to Debut New Residency at Harrah’s Las Vegas
After two successful limited engagements in 2017, modern-day mime and comedian Tape Face is returning to Las Vegas. The “America’s Got Talent” alumnus has announced a multi-year residency at Harrah’s Las Vegas, beginning Friday, March 16 at 7 p.m. PST. Although his show contains no dialogue, his return to Sin City will be louder than ever. In conjunction with his new show, Harrah’s Las Vegas will premiere a uniquely customized theater for Tape Face’s return called “House of Tape.” An intimate, 200-seat venue, the brand-new showroom will be easily accessible from Harrah’s main gaming floor. 
The D Las Vegas Debuts Fortune Cup™ Mechanical Horse Racing Game
The D Las Vegas recently saddled up as the first Downtown Las Vegas casino to feature the new-to-market Fortune Cup™ mechanical horse racing game. Created by Konami Gaming, Inc. and to be housed on property’s second-level Vintage Vegas casino floor, the new addition brings modern technology improvements to a high-demand gaming format. Fortune Cup will feature a 9-foot wide mechanical track with eight horses synchronized to real-time digital animation of the game’s action through connected LCD displays. Powered by Konami’s cutting-edge, cross-platform game engine, it includes 10 individualized betting stations with an intuitive touchscreen interface. Ushering in the new wave of old-versus-new throwback gaming, Fortune Cup will sit next to another famous equestrian form of entertainment at the D, the beloved Sigma Derby racing experience that has captivated gamers in Las Vegas for decades. First Gordon Ramsey HELL’S KITCHEN Restaurant Opens at Caesars Palace
Multi-Michelin star chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay, joined by the finalists of Season 17 HELL’S KITCHEN All-Stars and famous faces from the sports and entertainment world, celebrated the official grand opening of the first-ever Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN restaurant at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Since its soft opening in early January, the highly-anticipated restaurant has already received reservations for nearly 25,000 guests. Designed to be an experiential and immersive destination restaurant, guests at Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN will feel transported to the studio set of the globally popular FOX television show. The inspiration from the hit show is evident from the signature fiery pitchfork – direct from the set of the popular TV show – that marks the entryway, to the life-size video screen of Chef Ramsay that greets guests upon arrival, to the chef uniforms and menu items. Las Vegas Lights FC to Kick Off Inaugural Season with Three Pre-Season Games
Las Vegas’ newest professional sports team, the United Soccer League (USL)’s Las Vegas Lights FC, will kick off its inaugural season with Soccer Spring Training matches against visiting MLS clubs on Feb. 10 (Montreal Impact), Feb. 17 (Vancouver Whitecaps FC) and Feb. 24 (DC United). Wynn Las Vegas Introduces Solar Energy Facility
Wynn Las Vegas will power its multi-use development, Paradise Park, with 100 percent renewable energy sourced from a new 160-acre solar energy facility, making it one of the most environmentally conscious planned developments in Las Vegas. Under the terms of the agreement with Enel Green Power North America, Inc. (EGPNA), Wynn Las Vegas will begin receiving power in the first half of 2018 which will be used to offset up to seventy-five percent of the resort’s current peak power requirements until Paradise Park opens. This is the largest percentage of renewable energy used by any resort in Las Vegas, and an industry first for a gaming operator in Nevada.

MGM Resorts International recently announced that its WNBA franchise will be called the Las Vegas Aces. Las Vegas’ first major professional basketball team – formerly the San Antonio Stars – will begin play in its new home in the 2018 season. LAS RAGEOUS Music Festival Returns to Downtown Las Vegas

Opening Thursday, Jan. 25 inside Cleopatra’s Barge, the intimate 180-seat theater at Caesars Palace, Renegades gives sports fans an up-close and personal experience with three of their favorite sports stars. The starting line-up includes baseball great Jose Canseco and two-time Super Bowl champion Jim McMahon. LVCVA Board Approves tvsdesign / Design Las Vegas to Create Iconic Design for Las Vegas Convention Center Expansion

On Nov. 14, in a historic decision, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) Board of Directors approved a recommendation to retain tvsdesign / Design Las Vegas to provide design services for the Las Vegas Convention Center District Phase Two Expansion project. The decision is a tremendous milestone for a project that will secure Las Vegas as the world’s premier business destination for decades to come. The recommendation of tvsdesign / Design Las Vegas is specific to Phase Two’s $860 million, 1.4 million-square-foot expansion project, which will include at least 600,000 square feet of new, leasable exhibit space.

Luxor Unveils Extensive Room Remodel Scheduled for Completion in Q1 2018

Luxor Hotel and Casino recently unveiled its newly remodeled rooms as the hotel continues the redesign of more than 1,700 hotel rooms in its East and West towers. The remodel began in early November and will continue to roll out through Q1 2018. Envisioned by MGM Resorts International Design, the remodeled rooms are inspired by the unique geometric form for which the Luxor is well-known and feature a crisp, natural color palette and modern, efficient design. Dominant colors within the space, including hazy amethyst, deep smoky green, charcoal and fawn, are drawn from the beauty of the desert.

Caesars Entertainment Introduces Fly LINQ at the LINQ Promenade

Caesars Entertainment Corporation, owner of The LINQ Promenade, announced the intended addition of Fly LINQ, expected to be the first and only zipline on the Las Vegas Strip. Developed by the team behind the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel, the approximately $20 million Fly LINQ features 10 side-by-side zip lines, capable of simultaneously launching all riders. The experience will be constructed on The LINQ Promenade, the open-air shopping, dining and entertainment district situated at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of next year.

AAA and Keolis Launch Nation’s First Public Self-Driving Shuttle in Downtown Las Vegas

AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah (AAA) is sponsoring the nation’s first self-driving shuttle pilot project geared specifically for the public. Over the course of a year, the self-driving shuttle aims at providing a quarter-million residents and visitors of Las Vegas with first-hand experience using autonomous vehicle (AV) technology, exposing most riders to the technology for the first time. This pilot builds on Keolis’ limited shuttle launch in downtown Las Vegas in early 2017; the November launch will be the first self-driving vehicle to be fully integrated with a city’s traffic infrastructure. AAA partnered with the city of Las Vegas, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) and Keolis North America (Keolis), which will operate and maintain the NAVYA Arma fully electric shuttle.

Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino has completed a $100 million room renovation, pairing dynamic entertainment and dining offerings with 2,496 contemporary new guest rooms and suites. The 70-minute musical revue with seating for 140 features a combo of live original music and well-known stylized and re-imagined modern standards. The WNBA and NBA Board of Governors have unanimously approved the relocation of the San Antonio Stars to Las Vegas. MGM Resorts International will own and operate the team, which will begin play in Las Vegas in the 2018 season. The team’s home arena will be the Mandalay Bay Events Center, one of the city’s premier entertainment venues, having hosted major concert and sports events since opening in 1999.

Caesars Palace Completes $100 Million Palace Tower Renovation
