Wynn Las Vegas Announces Partnership with Chef Thomas Keller
Wynn Las Vegas made a dramatic expansion to its culinary portfolio with the announcement of its partnership with acclaimed Chef Thomas Keller and his collection of restaurants that include famed Bouchon, The French Laundry, Per Se, The Surf Club Restaurant and TAK Room. Taking over the space previously occupied by The Country Club, the new venture is expected to open in the fall of 2020.
Leagues Cup Final to be Played in Las Vegas
Major League Soccer (MLS) and Liga MX recently announced Las Vegas will host the first-ever final of the new annual competition between the two top soccer leagues in North America, Leagues Cup, on Wednesday, September 18 at Sam Boyd Stadium. The event is being organized with the support of MGM Resorts and Las Vegas Events. On “The Road to Las Vegas,” the 2019 edition of Leagues Cup will feature four clubs from each league in an eight-team single-elimination tournament that launches with quarterfinals on July 23 and 24 at the stadiums of the MLS clubs. The semifinals will be August 20 at venues to be determined based on quarterfinal results.
MGM Resorts Announces Japanese Artist Yasuaki Onishi as Upcoming Exhibitor
MGM Resorts continues its celebration of Japanese art, introducing renowned artist Yasuaki Onishi at Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art (BGFA) and the Artist Studio at Bellagio. On August 12, Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art will unveil Permeating Landscape, a solo exhibition by Onishi featuring two large-scale installations that reinterpret the principle elements of sculpture including mass, volume, motion and shape. In September 2019, in conjunction with his BGFA exhibit, Onishi will begin creating a new sculpture at the Artist Studio using locally sourced materials and his unique adaptation of traditional metalwork and casting techniques.
Binion’s Celebrates Opening of Hotel Apache
Binion’s Gambling Hall is proud to announce the opening of Hotel Apache. The boutique hotel features 81 rooms with vintage-style furnishings reminiscent of the original Hotel Apache that opened in 1932. Hotel Apache at Binion’s Gambling Hall is inspired by the rich history of the property that captures the essence of Las Vegas’ storied past. Located in the heart of the Fremont Street Experience, in downtown Las Vegas, Hotel Apache’s vintage character is evidenced in its location, and 1932 original architecture. Guests of Hotel Apache will be able to check in at the original registration desk located on the casino floor. They can then take the first electronic elevator in the city of Las Vegas to their hotel room. The property also has a long history of eerie occurrences that will appeal to many and was recently featured in Season 16, Episode 3 of “Ghost Adventures” on the Travel Channel.
Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club Welcomes Luenell for Limited Engagement
Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club at The LINQ Promenade announced its first-ever limited engagement beginning Aug. 4 with comedian, actress, and entertainment industry veteran, Luenell. The eight-show engagement runs Sunday, Aug. 4 through Sunday, Sept. 29. Shows are scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. Luenell’s hot and hilarious limited engagement is the newest addition to the club’s growing list of programming initiatives – these additional shows will not affect the regularly scheduled headlining acts each Thursday – Sunday at 8 p.m. with additional shows at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Trustworthy Brewing Co. & BBQ is now open daily from 5-11 p.m. at the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Palazzo. As the only brewery on the Las Vegas Strip to focus on artisanal small batch craft beers, Trustworthy Brewing Co. & BBQ is pouring award-winning West Coast-inspired beers brewed on site as well as from their Burbank brewery, along with a full bar. Executive Chef Lloyd Bansil’s menu complements the beer with a selection of smoked meats and barbecue dishes.

Wynn Golf Club Returns to Wynn Las Vegas On October 11
Wynn Las Vegas invites golfers to experience the anticipated return of the Wynn Golf Club and be among the first to play the new Tom Fazio golf course. The 18-hole championship course debuts on Friday, October 11 with a dramatically reimagined topography from the opening drive to the final putt. Guests can begin reserving tee times on Saturday, July 13. Golf icon and course designer Tom Fazio, assisted by his son Logan, crafted a landscape of significant elevation changes set against water features and mature trees that are unique to desert golf. The only course connected to a resort on the Las Vegas Strip, the new Wynn Golf Club sits on the historic site of the Desert Inn Golf Club, a legendary venue for celebrity and pro tour golf dating back to the 1950s.

Mongolian Gers Overlooking Camel Safari Debut
Camp under starlit skies in the comfort of the amazing Camel Safari. Authentic Mongolian Gers (yurts) can be found alongside a herd of more than 30 Bactrian and Dromedary camels and a variety of other exotic animals (like Ambien the sloth and Thorn the porcupine). While a ger rental does not include a tour of Camel Safari, tours can be booked. The Camel Safari is located approximately 75 minutes from downtown Las Vegas and an hour from St. George, Utah, situated between the picturesque Virgin River and the mesas of the Great Basin, sporting spectacular views of the Virgin Mountains. Gers can accommodate 2, 3 or 4 guests comfortably.

Pac-12 Football Championship Game to be Hosted in Las Vegas in 2020 and 2021
The Pac-12 Conference recently announced that the 2020 and 2021 host site for the Pac-12 Football Championship Game, presented by 76®, will be in Las Vegas at the new home of the Raiders, one of the National Football League’s most state-of-the-art venues. Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott made the announcement during the 2019 Pac-12 Football Media Day in partnership with Las Vegas Stadium and the Raiders, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and MGM Resorts International.
The Neon Museum Launches App for General Admission Visitors
The Neon Museum has launched a web-based app for use by general admission visitors, enabling them to learn about select signs housed in the Boneyard outdoor exhibition space. Anyone with a smartphone data plan can access the app, which requires a password obtained onsite. Its interpretive information is currently available in English; a Spanish-language version will launch soon. Comprising photos, text and audio narration, the museum’s app spotlights 25 of the collection’s most popular artifacts.
The STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod Introduces New Observation Deck, 108 Drinks and 108 Eats by James Trees
The STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod has debuted a complete remodel of the iconic tower’s indoor/outdoor Observation Deck on the 108th and 109th floors, which includes the new 108 Drinks and 108 Eats by James Trees. Located in the SkyPod at more than 1,000 feet high, the Observation Deck offers 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Strip. The 108th floor of the Observation Deck is indoors, with floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding the entire 360-degree circumference. Food, beverage and retail offerings can be found on the 108th floor, including 108 Eats by James Trees, serving gourmet bites, homemade ice cream and sandwiches; and 108 Drinks, featuring craft cocktails and comfortable bar and lounge seating. The 108th floor also serves as the jumping off point for SkyJump, a controlled descent from 855 feet high; as well as a new box office for the thrill rides; and Exhilarate 108, a retail store for souvenirs and novelty items.
Showgirl Bootcamp Now Open at Saxe Theater – Planet Hollywood
A team of professional showgirls has launched Showgirl Bootcamp Experience inside Saxe Theater at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The 2-hour workshop teaches participants how to walk, look and move like a real showgirl. Showgirls-in-training enjoy a cotton candy champagne toast before heading off to makeup stations where their magical transformations begin. While instructors demonstrate cosmetic tricks of the trade, they share stories of life in the limelight as showgirls, choreographers and directors. Once trainees are done-up and dazzling, they take center stage for a lesson on how to carry themselves with the style and sophistication of a showgirl before posing for photos wearing authentic Vegas headdresses.
