FREE CONCERT SERIES ON FREMONT STREET
Every Friday in April, Fremont Street will have a free performance by iconic artists spanning multiple genres. Catch performances from pop icons from the Pop 2000 Tour hosted by Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC with O-Town, BBMAK, Ryan Cabrera and LFO (April 5); rock groups Alien Ant Farm & The Ataris (April 12); hip-hop stars The Sugarhill Gang & Tag Team (April 19); and pop-punk legends Lit (April 26). The Free April Fridays concert series is a warmup to the iconic and highly anticipated 2024 Downtown Rocks free concert series kicking off Memorial Day Weekend.
ANTIQUES ROADSHOW COMING TO LAS VEGAS
The five-city 2024 production tour for the Antiques Roadshow kicks off May 1 at Springs Preserve, where three episodes will be recorded. Each ticketed guest can bring two items for experts to appraise. Antiques Roadshow has been delighting lucky guests with appraisals of their knickknacks since 1997.
MARGARITAVILLE CLOSING
For more than 20 years, Margaritaville, after the iconic song from Jimmy Buffet, has occupied a street-front space at the Flamingo. But, the restaurant is closing when their lease expires in June (reservations are no longer being accepted after April 15). The shuttering of Margaritaville continues the food and drink changes occurring at the Flamingo, including the addition of a new Vanderpump (Pinky’s) and Gordon Ramsay (Gordon Ramsay Burger) restaurant in summer 2024.
TREVI ITALIAN RESTAURANT CLOSED
Trevi Italian Restaurant closed unexpectedly at the Forum Shops inside Caesars Palace. The restaurant was located next to the shopping center’s fountain and featured an ancient Roman decor.
SAMMY’S ISLAND COMING TO THE PALMS
This summer, Sammy Hagar and Palms Casino Resort are introducing Sammy’s Island! Take a trip to a tropical pool getaway inspired by the music and Baja beach vibe of the Rocker himself at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas with the official debut on May 17. With a poolside restaurant, tiki bar, and Tequileria, the oasis will feature a blend of delicious food from Baja Breakfast Burritos to Shrimp Ceviche, plus refreshing cocktails made with Sammy’s signature spirits, including the signature Maui-jito crafted with Beach Bar Rum, margaritas and flights made with Santo Tequila & Mezquila, and canned cocktails like the Red Rocker Lager. And of course, it wouldn’t be Sammy’s Island without the music! It will host live poolside events throughout the summer featuring a variety of musical acts from headline performances to some of Vegas’ favorite local entertainers. On Saturday through Monday, the pool will feature top DJs spinning sets of music to keep the Sammy’s Island vibes going strong all weekend long.
COMO POOLSIDE CAFE & BAR OPENED AT BELLAGIO
Bellagio is giving pool season a big upgrade with its new outdoor dining experience – COMO Poolside Cafe & Bar. COMO’s main dining area seats up to 150 guests overlooking Bellagio’s garden, and includes a 30-seat bar top with TVs. Guests can enjoy the all-day Mediterranean-inspired dining experience offering breakfast and lunch. Apertivo Hour begins at 5 p.m. to serve early evening cocktails. COMO is available to both hotel and non-hotel guests.
INDEPENDENT MOVIE INDUSTRY EVENT MOVING TO PALMS
The Independent Film & Television Alliance (IFTA) announced that the American Film Market (AFM) will be held at the Palms Casino Resort November 5 – 10. The event is described as an opportunity for professionals from the independent film industry for networking, conferences and development. It also serves as the annual fundraiser for the IFTA.
COMMISSIONERS APPROVE PROPOSED MOVIE STUDIO
Clark County commissioners approved zoning plans for a new film production studio proposed in the Summerlin area of Las Vegas. Howard Hughes Corp. and Sony Pictures are partnering on the project which would be located at the corner of Flamingo Road and Town Center Drive and is expected to cover about 31 acres.
SPHERE LAUNCHES STUDENT DESIGN CHALLENGE
The Sphere announced that it is launching the inaugural Sphere XO Student Design Challenge with the prize of featuring artwork on the Exosphere. The theme of the challenge is around the 4th of July. Eight winners, ranging from elementary school through college, will be chosen via general public voting and a panel of professional artists who have created work for the Exosphere. Winning artwork will debut on the Exosphere on July 4, and the winning students will receive a $10,000 scholarship from Sphere Entertainment. Students from elementary and middle schools will also win a $10,000 donation for their school’s art program, plus an invitation to see the Sphere in the fall. Contest entry rules are available on the sphere website.
SPHERE TO HOST FIRST KEYNOTE EVENT
The Sphere will host its first-ever keynote event in June as part of a Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) conference. The keynote address will be delivered by HPE President & CEO Antonio Neri on June 18 as part of HPE Discover 2024. The Sphere Atrium has a seating capacity of 17,600 and a 160,000 square foot LED screen that wraps around the audience.
DANCING WITH THE STARS’ GLEB SAVCHENKO JOINING CHIPPENDALES CAST
Professional dancer and Dancing With The Stars pro Gleb Savchenko was recently announced at the latest celebrity guest host of the Chippendales show in Las Vegas. He will make an appearance in three weeks of shows from April 25 – May 12 at the Rio Hotel & Casino. Savchenko joins a list of notable names to appear at the popular Las Vegas show, including Vinny Guadanigno from Jersey Shore, and supermodel Tyson Beckford. Chippendales performs Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday at 8 p.m., with an additional show on Friday & Saturday at 10:30 p.m.
NEW VEGAS LOOP TUNNELS APPROVED
The Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority (LVCVA) recently approved two new Vegas Loop tunnels which will run underneath Paradise Road for approximately two miles down to UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center. The two new tunnels will move convention center traffic south and ultimately to the airport. County officials are also considering a proposal from the Las Vegas Raiders to have a Las Vegas Loop station at Allegiant Stadium.
NEW TORTAZO LOCATION COMING TO CAESARS PALACE
Celebrity Chef Rick Bayless will open a new Tortazo location at Caesars Palace this summer. Tortazo is described as a fast-casual Mexican restaurant that features tacos, quesadillas and house-made churros. Tortazo already has locations in New York and Chicago.
SLOTS-A-FUN AT CIRCUS CIRCUS UPDATED
Slots-A-Fun is a 16,733-square-foot casino attached to Circus Circus that has been nearly empty for the past 10 years. But, that is changing. Recently, Circus Circus updated Slots-A-Fun by adding vintage coin slots and live table games, and reopening the bar that features $2 beer, hot dogs and shrimp cocktails.
WYNN UNVEILS REVELRY – A CULINARY FESTIVAL
This summer Wynn will unveil Revelry – an all-new culinary festival that will bring together some of the world’s most esteemed chefs, best-in-class vintners, mixologists, art installations, and live entertainment. The festival will take place June 5 – 8, and will include intimate master classes, inventive collaborative dinners, and a speakeasy concept. BLAKE SHELTON TO HEADLINE GRAND OPENING CONCERTS AT OLE RED
Blake Shelton will headline back-to-back concerts at Ole Red on April 16 & 17. The concerts are part of an official week-long grand opening celebration at the restaurant. The week will include giveaways, on-site prizes, and performances from multiple country acts, including contestants from The Voice. To win tickets for Shelton’s concerts, fans can enter a sweepstakes. There is also chances to win through Ole Red’s social media accounts. Those fans that don’t win tickets will be able to stream a portion of the concert.
ATOMIC GOLF NOW OPEN
Atomic Golf opened at The STRAT on March 22. The 100,000 square foot venue features 103 golfing bays, a 212-yard range, six bars, and a putting district with eight digital putting bays. The venue also features special artwork that pays homage to the Arts District. Atomic Golf is open Monday through Wednesday 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.; Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 a.m.; and Sunday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
2024 EDC LINEUP ANNOUNCED
The Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) announced the lineup for the 2024 event which is scheduled for May 17 – 19. EDC will include over 230 artists who will perform across nine stages. Some of the big name artists performing include: Tiesto, David Guetta, Kascade, Diplo, Deadmau5, and many more. There are also a number of artists making their debut this year at the festival. The theme of this year’s festival is #kineticCIRCLE which celebrates the impact that circles have on our lives – circles of time, circles of trust and circles of community. There are changes to the festival layout this year, including relocating some stages, additional seating, and the addition of a saloon-style bar. Resorts World will once again transform into Hotel EDC for the festival.
GAMING MACHINE MAKERS ANNOUNCE MERGER
Gaming machine manufacturers IGT and Everi announced plans to merge forming a combined business valued at $6.2 billion. Both companies manufacture slot machines and other gaming technologies. IGT shareholders would own approximately 54% in the new company while Everi shareholders would own the remaining 46%. Everi will become the parent company but will change their name to International Game Technology Inc. The merger is expected to be completed later this year or in early 2025, pending stockholder and regulatory approval.
LAPA LOUNGE OPENING AT RIO IN JUNE
The Rio Hotel & Casino recently announced renderings for the Lapa Lounge which is inspired by Rio de Janeiro’s Lapa neighborhood. The new design features a ceiling adorned with golden-textured brass monkeys and jaguars, circling a blown glass chandelier while the honey onyx bar top is surrounded by teak accents and chairs covered in animal-inspired patterns. The updated lounge is scheduled to open in June.
CRASH N BURN NOW OPEN
A new skydiving and dining experience opened on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas on March 21 on the third floor of the Neonopolis Building. Crash N Burn is a 14,000 square foot entertainment venue that features a variety of vintage video games, lawn games and flying fun. There is also a patio overlooking Fremont Street with an indoor and outdoor bar and VIP event space for dining. In the evening, the space turns into a 21-and-over nightclub. Aero Vegas “Adrenaline Elevated” will open its high-flying adventure alongside Crash N Burn this summer.

SHAMROCK BASH RETURNING TO FREMONT STREET
The annual Shamrock Bash is coming back to Fremont Street. The four day celebration will feature nonstop live entertainment with 22 bands over three stages from March 14 – 17. Attendees can enjoy traditional Irish fare and performances from Celtic dancers. Irish bands – The Arcana Kings, The Black Donnelly’s and Craic in The Stone – will perform free music. There will also be basketball-themed fun that week to mark the return of the college tournament.
PAUL ANKA WRITES NEW SINGLE TO SALUTE FONTAINEBLEAU
Legendary singer-songwriter Paul Anka pays tribute to the newest resort in Las Vegas with his new single “Rendezvous: Life at Fontainebleau“. The song narrates the story of the resort. Paul Anka has long been associated with Fontainebleau – he was a frequent performer at the Miami Beach resort in the 60’s and 70’s and was part of the opening night festivities at the Las Vegas property. The song is available on all major music platforms.
NEW SPONGEBOB RIDE OPENS AT CIRCUS CIRCUS
Circus Circus Las Vegas announced that SpongeBob’s Crazy Carnival Ride, a new attraction based on the popular Nickelodeon characters, opens March 1. The attraction is a dark ride, or a sort of ride that features automatically guided vehicles navigating through scenes that can include animatronics, vibrant lighting, and special effects. The $6 million ride also has projections that fully submerse riders “in the nautical nonsense of SpongeBob SquarePants.”
COVE BAR & ARCADE OPENS AT TREASURE ISLAND
The Cove Bar & Arcade opened at Treasure Island and is described as a one-of-a-kind experience offering arcade games and other activities, including air hockey, shuffleboard, a six-lane bowling alley and a golf simulator. The venue also has a full-service bar with a variety of cocktails and video poker stations. The Cove Bar & Arcade is open Sunday – Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
BACK TO THE 90’S ROOFTOP REWIND
Circa in downtown Las Vegas invites you to step back in time and relive the glory days at their ultimate ’90s decade party! VENETIAN EXPANDING POKER ROOM
The Venetian Resort revealed plans to relocate its existing poker room to a new venue within the Grand Canal Shoppes this summer. The new poker room, set to span 14,000 square feet across Level 2 of the Grand Canal Shoppes, will house 50 tables, making it the largest poker room on the Strip. The move allows for increased seating capacity and will feature various amenities aimed at improving player comfort and convenience, including self-serve Coca-Cola soda fountains and coffee stations, online ordering and delivery from Grand Lux dining options, USB and USB-C charging ports at every seat, TVs throughout the venue, and dedicated restrooms. Additionally, it’s reported that a dedicated streaming room will be introduced, allowing players to co-ordinate vlogging sessions and stream tournament final tables and cash games.
1923 PROHIBITION BAR OPENING A SECOND LOCATION
The 1923 Prohibition Bar located inside The Shoppes At Mandalay Place is adding a second location at the Grand Canal Shoppes inside the Venetian Resort. The second location is scheduled to open in mid-2024 and will be located in a large space above Minus5º ICEBAR. The new bar will be open exclusively for private bookings throughout the week and live performances on weekends, including an ultra-secret, hidden chamber magic show soon to be announced. This modern speakeasy will only be accessible to guests receiving secret instructions guiding them to its cleverly concealed entrance.
JOHN WICK EXPERIENCE OPENING LATER THIS YEAR
Lionsgate, the motion-picture studio behind the “John Wick” movies, is teaming up with AREA15, franchise director Chad Stahelski, and Egan Productions to bring fans the “John Wick Experience,” a new attraction slated to open later in 2024. The experience will be approximately 12,000 square feet and will blend immersive theater and “highly-themed cinematic environments” to make an interactive journey for fans. Each group of guests will be tasked with missions, interacting with characters, mythology, and iconography from the “Wick” universe in “unique” ways. Additionally, fans will be able to visit a themed bar and retail shop.
FONTAINEBLEAU ANNOUNCES HALL OF EXCELLENCE
Hall of Fame and Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Jim Gray and seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady are bringing the first-ever Hall of Excellence to Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The one-of-a-kind sports and rare memorabilia museum will open at the resort later this year. The Hall of Excellence will showcase a curated collection of memorabilia from Jim and Frann Gray, Tom Brady and The Tom Brady Family Collection; as well as exclusive and rare items from all-time sports legends, including Muhammad Ali, Vince Lombardi, Jim Brown, Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron.

Ageless Las Vegas, a women-owned and led luxury destination opened next to the Augustus Tower inside Caesars Palace. WYNN & VENETIAN INCREASE RESORT FEES
Wynn increased their daily resort fee from $45 to $50 plus tax for all reservations booked on or after January 24. The resort fee includes in-room Wi-Fi; access to the fitness center and the resort pools; a dedicated concierge offering special dining access, spa reservations and golf tee times; access to a digital magazines and newspapers; unlimited local, domestic long distance and toll free calls; and Alexa in-room entertainment services and room controls. The Venetian and Palazzo also increased their resort fee from $45 to $50 plus tax. Their resort fee includes access to the fitness facility; in-suite Wi-Fi; unlimited local and toll free calls; boarding pass printing; and access to digital magazines and newspapers.
BETMGM LAUNCHES NEWLY DESIGNED SPORTS BETTING APP
BetMGM launched a newly designed sports betting App in Nevada. Some of the App’s enhanced features include expanded pre-game and in-game options, digital deposits and withdrawals, and same-game parlay+. For example, players can now connect two different same-game parlays into a single bet for increased odds. The App is connected to BetMGM Rewards – with every wager placed in Nevada, App users can earn Bet MGM Rewards Points and MGM Rewards Tier Credits which can be used at MGM Resorts properties.
WHATABURGER & PARRY’S PIZZERIA OPEN ON THE STRIP
Whataburger and Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse opened on the Strip next to the Waldorf Astoria. The two-story location encompasses more than 10,000 square feet, seats more than 300, and includes an upstairs terrace overlooking the Strip. The Whataburger menu features burgers and Dr. Pepper shakes while Parry’s has New York style pizza and chicken wings. Both restaurants are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
FONTAINEBLEAU TIER MATCHING
Now through June 2, guests can visit the Fontainebleau Las Vegas Rewards desk to receive a complimentary tier status upgrade. NEW JAZZ BAR – THE PINKY RING NOW OPEN
Two icons in hospitality and entertainment – superstar singer, songwriter, producer and musician Bruno Mars and the legendary Bellagio Resort & Casino – joined forces to introduce The Pinky Ring, a one-of-a-kind cocktail lounge and jazz bar. Moody lighting, live music, DJs, a specialty bar program and best-in-class audio are the backdrop for an incredible night out at The Pinky Ring. Located centrally on Bellagio’s casino floor, in the former Lily Bar & Lounge space, The Pinky Ring opened February 12. The club is open Sunday – Thursday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 3 a.m.
EMMITT SMITH RESTAURANT NOW OPEN
The restaurant from NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith is finally open. Located at the Fashion Show Mall, Emmitt’s opened on February 26. The restaurant features steaks, dishes and Southern favorites curated by corporate chef Steve Mannino and executive chef Antwan Ellis. The restaurant was first announced in December 2021 and was originally going to open in the spring of 2022.
OFFSPRING TAKING OVER PUNK ROCK MUSEUM
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of their SMASH album, the Offspring is inviting fans to “Come Out and Play” at the Punk Rock Museum from April 12 – 14. The band will host an acoustic performance and a Q&A session. Band members will also be giving guided tours and DJ’ing at the Triple Down Bar. Offspring tattoo sheets will be available at the tattoo parlor, as well as exclusive merchandise and SMASH-themed cocktails.
WORLD SERIES OF POKER ANNOUNCES 2024 SCHEDULE
Officials for the World Series of Poker (WSOP) announced that the 55th annual poker tournament will run from May 28 to July 17 at the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. The Main Event will run from July 3 to 17. The daily event schedule was recently announced and is available on the WSOP website as well as details on how to qualify for the tournament.
NEW BAR OPENED AT PLANET HOLLYWOOD
Planet Hollywood opened a new cocktail lounge – Glass Bar. The 4,000 square foot space is decorated with chrome brass and thousands of crystal prisms, and includes a selection of bar-top games, six TV screens that wrap around the bar, and a selection of unique cocktails. Glass Bar is located in the former Heart Bar space near the Bakkt Theater.

TROPICANA ANNOUNCES CLOSING DATE
On January 29, Bally’s officials confirmed that the Tropicana will cease operations on April 2, 2024 in preparation for the decommissioning and demolition of the structures. The demolition is said to make room for the Athletics proposed 30,000 seat ballpark. Bally’s is closing out all hotel bookings and relocating all customer reservations booked beyond April 2. Guests can visit the Tropicana website to learn more about existing and future hotel bookings, players club rewards, and gaming transactions. As for the shows currently performing at the Tropicana, they will perform elsewhere on the Strip – new locations will be announced once details are finalized.
FONTAINEBLEAU LAS VEGAS TO HOST “LIVE WITH KELLY & MARK”
Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos and the “Live” family are bringing the No. 1 entertainment talk show on television to the stage at the state-of-the-art BleauLive Theater inside the all-new luxury resort and casino Fontainebleau Las Vegas. During their star-studded stay, Kelly and Mark will be joined each morning by celebrities, musicians and more in front of thousands of fans. RIO OPENS NEW FOOD HALL
The Rio Hotel & Casino opened the Canteen Food Hall on January 19, taking over the space previously occupied by the Carnival World Buffet. The food hall includes Tony Luke’s (south Philadelphia cheesesteaks), Nama Nama (Japanese street food), Attaboy Burger, Shogun Ramen, Southland Burrito Co. (Sonoran-style burritos), and Tender Crush (exclusive chicken tenders). The food hall is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday & Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
MGM RESORTS INCREASES RESORT FEES
Effective January 16, MGM Resorts increased resort fees at their Strip properties. The new fees are as follows: $37 at Excalibur & Luxor; $42 at New York-New York, NoMad, Park MGM & Signature; $45 at Mandalay Bay, Delano & MGM Grand; $50 at Aria, Vdara, Bellagio & Cosmopolitan. Resort fees cover amenities such as phone calls, digital newspaper and magazine downloads, WIFI, fitness center access, boarding pass printing, and access to On Demand TV at some properties. In addition, MGM Resorts has changed their cancellation policy from 48 hours prior to arrival to 72 hours prior to arrival.
2024 LAS VEGAS GRAND PRIX DATES & START TIMES
The 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix will run from November 21 – 23. Practice rounds and the qualifying race are planned for November 21 and 22 with the start times still to be announced. The main race on November 23 will take place at 10 p.m. local time.

There’s a new place on the Strip to kick up your boots! Country music sensation Blake Shelton brings a taste of Tennessee to the heart of Sin City with the grand opening of Ole Red Restaurant & Bar on January 15. Ole Red Las Vegas occupies a prominent position in front of the Horseshoe at the Grand Bazaar Shops. The 27,000 square foot restaurant showcases the best of country music and culture to both locals and tourists, and features nearly 700 seats, four different levels and two stages.
VENETIAN LAUNCHING NEW LOYALTY PROGRAM
The Venetian is launching a new rewards program – Venetian Rewards (replaces the current Grazie Rewards). Venetian Rewards will allow members to earn tier points by playing games on the casino floor as well as from accommodations, dining, entertainment, retail and spa treatments. Each tier unlocks different benefits. Some of the lower level benefits include things such as slot multipliers and complimentary late checkout. Higher tiers include benefits such as complimentary valet and golf or fitness credits. Members earn two Rewards Points for every $1 spent on hotel, dining, entertainment, retail and spa. One Rewards Point is earned for every $4 wagered on reeled slots or every $10 wagered on video poker. Two Rewards Points based on average bet and duration of play are earned on specific table games. Membership to Venetian Rewards is complimentary and begins in March.

STATION CASINOS TO HOST LION DANCES IN HONOR OF LUNAR NEW YEAR

DURANGO TO HOST WINTER “APRES-SKI” EXPERIENCE
You can soon enjoy a taste of ski season without leaving Las Vegas. The George Sportsmen’s Lounge at Durango Casino & Resort began hosting a series of “apres-ski” parties on January 13 that will continue each Saturday until February 24. According to the press release, the wrap-around screens will transform into a ski lodge feel with fire pits, vintage ski video clips, hot toddies and a chairlift for photos. There will also be a live DJ. Guests who dress in their ski apparel get their $10 cover fee waived.
TWO NEW RESTAURANTS OPENING AT GREEN VALLEY RANCH
Station Casinos and Blue Ribbon Restaurants announced that Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill and Ortikia Mediterranean Grill will open at Green Valley Ranch this spring. This is the second location for Blue Ribbon Sushi; the first is located at Red Rock. Ortikia is described as a wood-fire grill eatery that will feature fish, rotisserie meats and an oyster and crudo bar.
NEW ORDINANCE TO PREVENT STOPPING ON STRIP PEDESTRIAN BRIDGES
Clark County commissioners approved a new ordinance that makes it unlawful to stop on the pedestrian bridges on the Strip. Under the ordinance, pedestrian bridges and the 20 feet surrounding the elevators and escalators are considered a flow zone. It is unlawful for any person to stop, stand or engage in activity that makes another person stop or stand within the flow zone. The one exception is for people waiting for an elevator. Anyone who violates the ordinance can be found guilty of a misdemeanor and face up to six months in jail, a $1,000 fine or both. The ordinance won’t be enforced by police until signage is posted informing people about the law.
NEW IMMERSIVE PLAYGROUND OPENS
A first-of-its-kind interactive playground, called Play Playground, opened at the Luxor on January 18. The 15,000 square foot space features more than 20 large-than-life nostalgic games, two bars, a VIP mezzanine, and private event spaces. The playground doesn’t include VR or arcade games but instead offers large-scale, tactile games and attractions. The space is open to all ages during the day but becomes adults only at night. Ticket prices start at $37. Play Playground is open Sunday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m.
NEON MUSEUM RESTORING HISTORIC FLAMINGO SIGNS
The Neon Museum – the non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, preserving, studying and exhibiting iconic Las Vegas signs – announced plans to restore and relight three individual Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino signs. These include the hotel’s historic 1967 pylon sign by Bill Clarke and two feather plumes designed by Raul Rodriguez from 1976.
AREA15 RELEASING NEW SIGNAL LAGER
AREA15 officials announced they are launching a brand new Signal Lager that will only be available at AREA15, including Oddwood Bar, LIFTOFF ride and Asylum Bar + Arcade. The lager’s 16-ounce can was designed to feature a mix of AREA15’s circuitry patterns and gold details. The name Signal is also a reference to codes on the can that can only be deciphered by scanning the corresponding QR code. Guests can then decode their scrambled signals and unlock an integrated storyline.

The Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood will introduce a new food area next year. The new Miracle Eats food collective project is slated to open during the fourth quarter of 2024 and will offer as many as 11 delectable food and beverage options which will be announced at a later date. Miracle Eats will be located near the south entrance to the Miracle Mile Shops.
RETAIL DEVELOPMENT ON STRIP ANNOUNCES FIRST THREE TENANTS
The first three tenants of the new BLVD retail complex on the Strip have been announced. Adidas, H&M and Puma have all signed leases at the property that is located directly across from the Aria Resort. According to a press release, the Adidas store will be 25,000 square feet, the H&M store will be 20,000 square feet, and the Puma store will be 20,000 square feet. The BLVD retail complex is expected to be completed by August 2024.

M Resort is hoping to welcome more guests to the south side of the Strip with a $200 million expansion that includes the addition of a second tower. The tower will feature updated amenities, expanded meeting spaces, and over 380 new rooms. Construction is expected to last 18 months, with the second tower opening in mid-2025.

2024 NHL DRAFT TO BE HELD AT THE SPHERE
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced that plans are being finalized for the 2024 entry draft to take place June 28 & 29 at the Sphere. It will be the last time the NHL Draft will be held in its current format where all 32 teams are stationed on the host arena’s floor throughout the two day event. Going forward, the NHL is decentralizing the draft to a style similar to the NFL and NBA. This will be first time the Golden Knights have hosted the NHL Draft in their seven year history.
HIGH SPEED TRAIN LANDS FEDERAL FUNDING FOR CONSTRUCTION
Brightline West has landed a $3 billion federal grant to begin construction on the 218-mile high speed train system connecting Las Vegas and southern California. U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation will provide the funding via the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The $12 billion high speed rail system is expected to connect Las Vegas with stations in Apple Valley, Hesperia and Rancho Cucamonga, California. The station in Rancho Cucamonga would connect with a pre-existing Metrolink train line that runs to Los Angeles. The Las Vegas station would be located near Blue Diamond Road and Las Vegas Boulevard, south of the Strip. The company teased breaking ground with a social media post, sharing a look at new fencing and signage near the site of the Las Vegas station. Rosen’s office says the project will support 35,000 construction jobs.
NATIONAL FINALS RODEO & LAS VEGAS REACH 10-YEAR DEAL
A new agreement will keep the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas through 2035. No details have been released on the financial commitment from Las Vegas Events. NFR had an estimated $200 million impact on the Las Vegas economy in 2019. It left Las Vegas in 2020 when the event was held in Arlington, Texas but returned in 2021. The NFR has sold out 360 consecutive performances and attracts the top 15 contestants in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding, according to Las Vegas Events. In 2022, the event had a total attendance of 173,350 over the 10 days of competition in Las Vegas.

ALL NET ARENA PROJECT DENIED EXTENSION
The Clark County Commission voted unanimously to deny All Net Resort & Arena’s request to again extend its land use permit tied to a long-planned project on the North Strip. First introduced in 2013, the $5 billion project has been delayed several times and its proposed financial backing has changed multiple times over the last decade. Last year county officials gave project developers until September to have the project underway, in what was described then as the final extension of time. The project would have included a 22,000-seat retractable roof arena, two luxury hotel towers, a convention center, movie theater and grocery store.
MLB OWNERS APPROVE ATHLETICS’ MOVE TO LAS VEGAS
Major League Baseball (MLB) owners voted unanimously to approve the move of the Oakland Athletics to Las Vegas. The A’s will play their final season at the Oakland Coliseum in 2024 before opening a new ballpark on the Las Vegas Strip in 2028. The vote officially sets into motion the first MLB club relocation since the Montreal Expos moved to Washington, D.C., in 2005 and became known as the Nationals.
CAESARS PALACE UNVEILS NEWLY-RENOVATED COLOSSEUM TOWER ROOMS
Caesars Palace is honoring its Roman roots with the debut of one of its newly renovated towers. The new Colosseum Tower, formally known as the Forum Tower, offers guests 440 refurbished rooms and suites that display a classic yet modern feel. Select rooms offer views of the Las Vegas Strip, with suites starting at 800 square feet, and sometimes include a living room with a couch, coffee table, chair, and a dining or pool table.

A new cocktail and caviar bar with a secret music lounge is scheduled to open at Caesars Palace Spring 2024. Caspian’s is the latest creation from Clique Hospitality and will be located near the main entrance on the walkway between the high limit slot area and Nobu Hotel & Restaurant. The bar will replace the space formerly occupied by Cleopatra’s Barge. The 1,100 square foot venue will seat about 50 guests while the 2,300 square foot music lounge will seat about 100 guests.

Miracle Mile Shops has launched a free 3D projection video show entitled “The Lost City Show”. The show runs daily from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. in front of the V Theater. Visitors can watch fire, water, ice, earth and wind dance across the stone facade of V Theater and the surrounding cityscape.
BOURBON ST. PARADE BAR CLOSED AT GRAND BAZAAR SHOPS
Bourbon St. Parade bar opened at the Grand Bazaar Shops on the Strip on October 19 and sadly closed November 21. The bar paid homage to the history, culture and music of New Orleans, and featured live music all-day, every-day and daily second line parades featuring a marching brass band led by a grand marshal.
STREETMOSPHERE ENTERTAINMENT ENDING AT GRAND CANAL SHOPPES
Streetmosphere, the live singing performances at the Grand Canal Shoppes, will end on December 6 after running for more than 20 years. Streetmosphere has been operating daily since 1999, except during the pandemic. Performances were complimentary. The decision to end the program was not due to any performance or program issues.

Lisa Vanderpump’s premiere eatery, Vanderpump Cocktail Garden, is located at Caesars Palace and her second hotspot, Vanderpump à Paris, is located at Paris Las Vegas. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s newest restaurant – Pinky’s by Vanderpump – will be located inside the Flamingo in the former Purple Zebra space along Las Vegas Boulevard. Renderings of the restaurant show an elegant space with plush pink banquettes, golden tables, tiered chandeliers in pale green, golden sculpted palms, hanging flora, a front bar faced in glowing pink, and a back bar formed from golden Palladian arches and from marble in black, gold and green. The space will also feature flamingos in homage to the property.

Tickets for the festival went on sale in November.
MARRIOT & WESTIN COMING TO DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS
A new hotel development in downtown’s Symphony Park will bring together two brands under one roof — Marriott and Westin. The five-story, 441-room dual branded hotel will share a building on the south side of Grand Central Parkway, near the World Market Center and the Smith Center for the Performing Arts. The project will include an 18,025-square-foot ballroom/meeting space, along with seven entertainment suites with an outdoor pool and terrace. Construction is expected to begin in January 2024 with an opening planned in late 2025. The area is also the site of the Cello Tower project – a 32-story luxury condo development which is the city’s first new residential high-rise in over a decade.

CIRCUS CIRCUS GETTING A MAKEOVER
The more than 50-year-old Las Vegas hotel and casino, Circus Circus, is undergoing major renovations. The classic, pink and white 43,500 square foot roof tent top has been repainted and a lot of work has also been going on inside, including renovations to the 30-year-old Adventuredome which has grown to 28-plus rides, with more on the way. There is also new attractions, including mini bowling and axe throwing. Additionally, a $10 million project is redoing all the property’s elevators. And of course, the rooms are being refreshed with updated furniture.
CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE FOR A’S LAS VEGAS BALLPARK
At a recent meeting, the Las Vegas Stadium Authority shed light on construction timelines and a future lease agreement with the Oakland Athletics. The team hired Mortenson/McCarthy to serve as construction manager for the planned ballpark – they were hired by the Raiders to build Allegiant Stadium. The firm also disclosed that construction would start in April 2025 at the site of the Tropicana Hotel, with completion set for spring 2028.

David Copperfield, the legendary illusionist, who counts making the Statue of Liberty disappear and walking through the Great Wall of China among his many accomplishments, has announced he is working on a bold new stunt – making the moon disappear. It has taken Copperfield 30 years of work to develop the stunt which he plans to pull off in February 2024. Universal revealed the name of the company’s first-ever permanent horror experience: Universal Horror Unleashed. The new concept will bring to life Universal’s vast library of classic horror films and today’s most terrifying tales. With a variety of unique, immersive, fantastic horror-centric experiences that surround high energy food and beverage spaces by day turned haunting bars and eateries by night, the new concept marks the first time Universal has created a permanent horror experience beyond its theme parks. The space will also feature a continuously updated experience, must see seasonal events, and one-of-a-kind merchandise. Universal Horror Unleashed will be the anchor tenant in a new 20-acre expansion of Las Vegas’ immersive AREA15 entertainment district. THE ICE RINK RETURNS TO COSMOPOLITAN
Each holiday season, the Cosmopolitan transforms their Boulevard Pool into a winter wonderland, including a 4,200 square foot skating rink, a fire pit, and a chalet complete with seasonal food and beverage offerings. MARQUEE DAYCLUB BRINGS BACK “DAYCLUB DOME” FOR 2023-2024 WINTER SEASON
Marquee Dayclub at the Cosmopolitan announced plans to resurrect its iconic “Marquee Dayclub Dome” to keep the daytime pool parties going throughout the 2023-2024 fall and winter seasons. Vegas pool party season typically ends by mid to late October when cooler weather arrives, but the 23,000-square-foot orb placed on top of the rooftop dayclub will ensure that summer never ends at Marquee. The dome rises over 50 feet tall and covers the full pool deck to provide shelter from precipitation and desert winds. Large heaters will maintain an air temperature of 85 degrees and water temperature of 90 degrees throughout the colder seasons. Marquee Dayclub Dome’s opening date, hours of operation, and DJ event calendar will be announced in the coming weeks.

AREA15 EXPANDING
AREA15 has become known for its interactive art installations and exhilarating electronic music events; it offers a haven for those seeking all things extraordinary. And even though it has only been around for three and a half years, the company is looking to expand. The 20-acre expansion became official in January and promises over 1,300 apartment units, a 118,000-square-foot hotel and nightclub (anticipated to become a mecca for electronic dance music enthusiasts), and a 9,000-square-foot plaza that includes outdoor dining. They’ve also reportedly secured a decommissioned Boeing 747 aircraft which will be repurposed for events.
RESORTS WORLD WILL TRANSFORM INTO HOTEL EDC IN MAY 2024
Insomniac, the world’s leading live music experience creator, along with Vibee, the music-led destination experience company, announced Hotel EDC will return for its second year next spring. Located at Resorts World Las Vegas, Hotel EDC will take place during the 2024 Electric Daisy Carnival, the world’s largest dance music festival, from May 17-20, 2024.
SIDEWALK VENDING BANNED NEAR LAS VEGAS RESORTS
Clark County commissioners unanimously approved an ordinance that bans sidewalk vendors from selling within 1,500 feet of resort hotels, sports facilities that host at least 20,000 people, a convention facility operated by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, or a median of a highway, if the median is adjacent to a parking lot. One example of this would be the Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas sign. The ordinance was effective October 17.
PROFESSIONAL VOLLEYBALL TEAM TO SOON CALL LAS VEGAS HOME
The Pro Volleyball Federation, described as the premier women’s professional volleyball league in North America, announced that its seventh franchise will be located in Las Vegas. The team, which has yet to be named, will begin play in the 2024 season with Fran Flory as the team’s head coach. Flory is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame, having spent 24 seasons as head coach at LSU. She led the team to an SEC championship in 2009. The Las Vegas team will announce more members of its ownership group, the team name, home venue and initial players at a celebration event in the coming weeks. There will be seven teams that play in the 2024 season, with three more teams coming in 2025, according to the Pro Volleyball Federation. Each of the seven teams will play a 24-match schedule.
HOWARD HUGHES HOLDINGS EYES NEW LAS VEGAS STRIP CASINO
Real estate development and management business Howard Hughes Holdings (HHH) has set out plans to open a new land-based casino on the Las Vegas Strip. The plans represent the first venture by HHH into the casino market. As part of the project, HHH has formed Seaport Entertainment, a new division that will oversee its entertainment-related assets in New York and Las Vegas. These assets include an 80% interest in the air rights above Fashion Show Mall – the intended location of the new casino. To support the venture, HHH has appointed highly experienced gambling executive Anton Nikodemus as CEO of Seaport Entertainment. Nikodemus joins after almost 11 years working in a series of senior roles with MGM Resorts International.

Station Casinos has officially launched a new app called STN Mobile. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher said in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.” Usher has been performing his vast collection of R&B hits at his most recent Las Vegas residency. The Super Bowl will air on CBS on February 11, 2024.
FONTAINEBLEAU SETS OPENING DATE
Fontainebleau will officially open its doors on Wednesday, December 13. In anticipation of the opening, the property has opened reservations for those looking to book a stay at the property. Reservations can be made online on their website. Construction on the 67-story Fontainebleau Las Vegas began in 2007 amid the U.S. real estate bubble and was expected to open in October 2009, but work stopped when it went bankrupt during the Great Recession. The property changed ownership hands multiple times – Marriott International bought the property in 2018 and rebranded it “The Drew” before Fontainebleau Development bought it back in 2021. The property is currently hiring over 6,000 workers ahead of the December opening.
VENETIAN UNVEILS NEW HIGH-LIMIT GAMING LOUNGE
A new high-limit gaming lounge debuts on the Palazzo casino floor at The Venetian this fall. The gaming lounge will span 15,000 square feet and include two distinctive curated spaces, one dedicated to table games (18 tables, including baccarat, blackjack, roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and craps) and the other to high-end popular slots (67 slots with some games offering jackpots exceeding $2 million). The lounge will also include a bar, cashiers, restrooms, and private casino host access. Self-pay will be available on all games for expedited jackpot payments.
VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS UNVEIL NEW STREAMING PLATFORM
The Vegas Golden Knights unveiled details about the team’s new streaming platform – KnightTime+ – that will make 69 regular-season games for the 2023/24 season, plus the first round of playoffs, available online. A full season pass will cost $69.99 while individual games can be purchased for $6.99 each. The team’s six preseason games will be available on the platform as a free trial. Streaming games on KnightTime+ will only be available in the Golden Knights’ broadcast territory. KnightTime+ can be found on iOS, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku.
CHICAGO-STYLE PORTILLO’S LOOKING TO EXPANDS TO VEGAS
Portillo’s, the fast-casual chain that serves Chicago-style hot dogs, beef and sausage sandwiches, pastas and shakes, is looking to expand to Las Vegas. Exact details on when or where a new location could open have not been shared. Portillo’s currently has 77 full-scale restaurants in 10 states, including six in the metro Phoenix area and two in Southern California.
GORDON RAMSAY-THEMED RAGE ROOM OPENING DOWNTOWN
Fans of Gordon Ramsay can experience the iconic chef in a new way when a themed rage room opens in downtown Las Vegas on September 30. The rage room is themed after the hit show “Kitchen Nightmares” and allows fans to “smash away their aggravation with Kitchen Nightmares-branded bats, small kitchen appliances, rolling pins, liquor bottles, vases and more”. While demolishing dinner plates and glasses, Ramsay’s voice “explodes throughout the experience, encouraging maximum breakage”. In addition to the rage room, fans can throw chefs’ knives at a bullseye – similar to traditional axe-throwing.
PIRATE-THEMED BAR OPENING IN ARTS DISTRICT
A new pirate-themed bar is opening in the Arts District in October. The Stray Pirate Tropical Cocktails & Effects will transport guests to a “thrilling undersea world where their ship came to rest on the sea floor”. Award-winning bartender Christopher Gutierrez will be at the helm of operations and cocktail creations, bringing his talents seen across many downtown locations, including Oak & Ivy, Corduroy, and Atomic Liquors.

Effective September 27, Wynn & Encore reinstated self-parking fees for non-resort guests. The daily parking fee is $20 per day with the first four hours free. Valet parking is $40 per day. Self-parking remains complimentary for registered guests and Wynn Rewards members in certain tiers.
CHERI ROOFTOP LOUNGE OPENING AT PARIS
This fall, Chéri Rooftop Lounge launches in the former Château Nightclub at Paris Las Vegas. The lounge will be nestled beneath the curving base of the replica Eiffel Tower and will feature a garden-themed terrace of more than 9,000 square feet. Chéri will also feature a lounge, an antique spiral staircase, chandeliers, plush banquettes, French wines and creative cocktails, and nightly entertainment. The lounge will be open nightly at 8 p.m.

ZOO STATION: A U2:UV EXPERIENCE
Zoo Station: A U2:UV Experience launches at the Venetian on September 28. Zoo Station is a 12,000 square foot interactive exhibit that includes a retrospective of Anton Corbijn’s photography and videos, a pop-up shop with exclusive merchandise, and a Zoo TV Cinema — an intimate theater where films, including rare and unreleased concert footage, will screen daily. The exhibit is intended to serve as a central destination and hub for fans where they can view exclusive U2 content and immerse themselves in the band’s musical and creative history. The entrance to Zoo Station is located in the Venetian’s Waterfall Atrium and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission to Zoo Station is free, except for special film screenings in the Zoo TV Cinema.
CELEBRATING 70 YEARS AS THE WEDDING CAPITAL OF THE WORLD
On Sunday, September 3, Las Vegas celebrates their status as the globe’s most desirable wedding location. Vegas was first recognized on September 23, 1953 as the “Wedding Capital of the World” by the London Daily Herald. The special celebration pays tribute to love and marriage as well as the more than 5 million couples who have married in Vegas. It takes place at Caesars Palace and includes brunch, a mass wedding vow renewal and an original vintage Vegas musical production titled “Las Vegas Will You Marry Me”.
BELLAGIO OPENS NEW COCKTAIL CLUB
Bellagio‘s new cocktail club – The Vault – opened August 28 but getting inside isn’t easy. You can’t make a reservation on a website and there’s no markings on the door. Access is by invitation or by checking availability on their Instagram page. The Vault offers specialty cocktails that range in price from $50 to $100, vintage cocktails made with spirits from the mid-1900s, and a variety of foods. The cocktail club is daily open from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
COSMOPOLITAN TO END FREE PARKING FOR HOTEL GUESTS
Cosmopolitan is eliminating free self-parking for casino guests. Beginning September 20, the luxury resort will begin charging parking fees for most overnight guests (they ended free self-parking for non-hotel guests in June 2021). The Cosmopolitan’s website states “registered hotel guests are subject to applicable self-parking rates for stays that begin on or after 9/20/23”. The website also indicates that Identity Rewards members at the Sterling or above status will continue to receive free self-parking. When the MGM Rewards program is implemented at the Cosmopolitan on February 1, 2024, MGM Rewards members at the Pearl or above status will qualify for free self-parking.
LISA VANDERPUMP OPENING A THIRD RESTAURANT IN VEGAS
Lisa Vanderpump’s premiere eatery, Vanderpump Cocktail Garden, is located at Caesars Palace and her second hotspot, Vanderpump à Paris, is located at Paris Las Vegas. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s newest restaurant will be located inside the Flamingo. Renderings of the restaurant show an elegant space with plush pink banquettes, golden tables, tiered chandeliers in pale green, golden sculpted palms, hanging flora, a front bar faced in glowing pink, and a back bar formed from golden Palladian arches and from marble in black, gold and green. The space will also feature flamingos in homage to the property.
PETER LUGER STEAKHOUSE OPENING THIS FALL
Last year Caesars Entertainment announced that Peter Luger Steakhouse would make its first American foray outside of New York. Now, the 135-year-old restaurant is expected to open at Caesars Palace in October and bring its flagship dry-aged porterhouse to the Vegas Strip for the first time. Peter Luger will boast classic furnishings with wooden floors, leather-upholstered chairs, soft pendant lighting, and wooden and metallic textures on the ceiling. The style aims to evoke the Brooklyn location’s Bavarian beer hall aesthetic with exposed brick and industrial windows. The 8,700-square-foot restaurant will be located near Mr. Chow and promises to incorporate the same old-world sensibilities that made Peter Luger a classic. The steakhouse is accepting reservations in advance of their fall opening.
RESORTS WORLD ADDING CO-OP FROSE & EATERY
Resorts World is opening the latest location of the fast-growing Co-op Frosé & Eatery which features a twist on a Las Vegas staple – the frozen alcoholic beverage – by offering frozen wine, along with an upscale breakfast and lunch menu. The shop will offer about eight to 10 frosés at a time from a rotating seasonal menu of 50 flavors and will also serve creative sandwiches, offer bottled rosé in partnership with Tarpon Cellars of Napa Valley, and supply slushies to room service. Co-op Frosé & Eatery will also have a kiosk on the resort’s casino floor and an Airstream trailer offering its frozen wine at the Resorts World pool.
CIRCUS CIRCUS ADVENTUREDOME CELEBRATES 30TH ANNIVERSARY
Circus Circus celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Adventuredome. According to a media release, the five-acre Las Vegas Strip amusement park welcomed its first guests on August 23, 1993, and has since welcomed more than a million visitors a year. Over the last three decades, the park has continuously evolved with new rides, games and entertainment offerings. In celebration of the milestone anniversary, Circus Circus is offering lower prices across all its entertainment offerings through Labor Day.
POPSTROKE GOLF EXPERIENCE COMING TO LAS VEGAS
PopStroke, which is partnered with Tiger Woods and Taylormade, is set to open in Las Vegas in Q1 2024 and will feature two 18-hole putting greens, a two-story restaurant, multiple bars and an outdoor beer garden with games like corn hole and foosball. Located on 3 acres, PopStroke will be located in Town Square on the corner of South Drive and South Main Street. This will be PopStroke’s first spot in Nevada.
SPHERE ENTERTAINMENT PROPOSES LONG-TERM AGREEMENT WITH NV ENERGY
Sphere Entertainment Company announced that it has proposed a long-term agreement to maximize renewable power for Sphere in Las Vegas, and has submitted a 25-year agreement with NV Energy. If the agreement is approved by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada, it will provide the highest amount of dedicated solar power available to Sphere. As part of the agreement, Sphere is maximizing the amount of green power serving the venue but using a renewable and battery storage resource that is being developed by NV Energy. The Sphere was designed for high standards of sustainability and to minimize energy consumption – the venue’s LED screens use the most energy-efficient lighting available today and the venue’s heating and cooling system avoids wasteful reheating. Sphere Entertainment estimates that approximately 70 percent of its power will be from dedicated solar and battery resources.
NEVADA TESTING NEW “TICKET IN, BONUS OUT” GAMBLING MACHINE TECHNOLOGY
Gold Country Inn & Casino in Elko, Nevada is launching a trial of a new gambling machine ticket technology developed by Acres Technology called “ticket in, bonus out,” or TIBO. With the traditional “ticket in, ticket out” (TITO), a customer puts money into a machine and receives a ticket upon cash out that can be put into another machine or redeemed at the cage. With TIBO, the system predicts when the customer is close to the end of their session and then prints a ticket that gives them bonus spins. TIBO can be personalized in any way a casino sees fit to offer all sorts of rewards and play incentives. The system is being hyped as a way to generate more revenue for casinos.
