About Circus 1903 Las Vegas
In a Las Vegas premiere event, the producers of the world’s biggest magic show, The Illusionists, have teamed up with the award-winning puppeteers from War Horse, to bring a thrilling turn-of-the-century circus spectacular to the Las Vegas Strip. “CIRCUS 1903 –The Golden Age of Circus” is designed by scenic artist Todd Ivins and set in a decadent circus tent. The first act is set in front of the circus with trucks, props and rigging. The second part of the show features the tent, flagpoles and rigging being raised into the roof of the theater.
Coming off of successful runs in Los Angeles at Hollywood Pantages Theatre and New York at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, CIRCUS 1903 –The Golden Age of Circus has all the thrill and daredevil entertainment one would expect from the circus, with an exciting new twist. Sensational puppetry put elephants back in the ring as never seen before by introducing the largest ever performing African elephant and her baby. Led by a cunning ringmaster, the production features a huge cast of the most unique, amazing and dangerous circus acts from all four corners of the world, from strong men to contortionists, acrobats to musicians, knife throwers to high wire and much more.
Everything including high-wire acts, magicians, knife throwers, strongmen and more pack the show. But because it’s not really a circus without elephants, Circus 1903 threw two life-size elephant puppets into the lineup.
Elephants, the majestic animals associated with the circus, are back in the ring like you’ve never seen them before. The award-winning team of puppeteers and model makers who created “War Horse,” brings to life two stunningly beautiful elephant puppets for this show. The puppets appear throughout the show as the mother teaches her calf the tricks of the trade. Their movements are so lifelike you’ll think you’re watching the real thing.
