LAS VEGAS APPROVES F1® PLAN TO SHUT STRIP FOR RACE UNTIL 2032
Formula 1® will light up the Las Vegas Strip November 18 as it hosts a street race around the centre of the city with part of the track incorporating the iconic Strip. The 3.8-mile, 50-lap race will take place at night on a stretch of the Las Vegas Boulevard between Spring Mountain Road and Harmon Avenue. Construction is underway on a building at the intersection of Harmon and Koval Lane that will form the pit and paddock area for the race. An initial three-year contract was signed for the race in Las Vegas, but officials have since approved a plan to host the Formula 1 grand prix for the next 10 years. Las Vegas plans to retain its late-season slot moving forward, hosting the event the week prior to the Thanksgiving holiday in November from 2023 through to 2032.
